Southend Carers supports All Carers & works with its partners to encourage wider recognition of their invaluable contribution to society.
Our one-stop-shop hub offers a range of services including:-
- Expert advice, information and guidance provision – face to face, drop-in, online/digital platforms
- Young Carers (5 -17 y/o) – Weekly & Monthly social meet ups, trips & outings
- Young Adult Carers (14-25 y/o) – supporting the transition of through to adulthood and adult services through peer support & social activities, mentoring, training, guidance and support.
- Adult & Senior Adult Carers – Social & practical activities and events, bringing carers together with their peers to socialise, pick up new skills and share experiences.
- Respite support for parents of children with additional needs and their siblings, including family holidays, short breaks and social events.
- Emotional support and counselling, offering a safe, confidential and comfortable setting for carers who may feel overwhelmed by their caring role.
- Future planning to help carers plan for the unexpected so their loved-one is cared for in the event of crisis.
- End-of-Life emotional support and practical planning.
- Community outreach and engagement to identify and support marginalised and underrepresented carer groups
- Food & Energy Support distributing food vouchers, food parcels, small grants, and essential living items to carers & families in crisis.
- Carer Development, Training & Learning Programmes to support health, wellbeing & caring role.
